I remember the first time I met Charlie. We were playing poker and I never really played before. He kept raising without looking at his cards, and I couldn't understand why. Then I realized that it was the "Charlie Walker Big Blind Bet Special."

I'll always remember the Cowboys/49er's games and bets. Thanks for being one of the most generous and giving people I have ever known. I am going to miss you my friend. I'll see you soon.

Fifteen years ago, we played a softball game against the Town of Smyrna team. We were just an average team, but that night, Charley played a great game. The Town of Smyrna team was great, full of policemen and firemen and city officials. We had played each other five times previous to this game and lost by twenty runs each time. This was the end of the season! Charley scored the winning run. We celebrated for six months!

When Carolyn and Charlie first started dating, I asked Charlie what he did for a living. He replied with, "Well, like all the other Texans, I'm in gas and oil." Little did I know, he had actually been working in at his his father's Texaco station. I asked him how far he was into gas and oil and he responded by saying that he was in "about up to his elbows."

I think I'll drink a beer for you,
Throw a dart for you,
Tell a joke for you,
Then smile for you,
Because that's what you would do.
  Love ya and miss ya

Here's a photo from last year of Charlie chilling at the Hoover Dam. He and Mom took a trip out to Vegas last year. This is one of the few photos of him from that trip. He wasn't getting around to well and most of the photos were pretty blurry. Neither had really mastered using the digital camera either. Of course, Mom has never been that great at a film camera either.
